Generations United Love Story Contest Official Rules

Sponsored by Generations United, LLC

This contest is intended for the United States only and is governed by U.S. Law.  Do not submit an application unless you are eligible and located in the United States at the time of submission.

1. ELIGIBILITY:  The Generations United National Love Story Contest is open only to married couples 1) that have been married for 25 years or longer as of the date of application; 2) that are comprised of one male and one female.  Authors and Sponsoring Companies employees, directors, independent contractors and officers as well as the members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and in-laws) and persons residing in the same household as such individuals are not eligible to apply.

2. HOW TO APPLY - PART I APPLICATION:  The contest begins at or about 12:00 midnight CST on 8/15/2013 and ends at 11:59 pm CST on 10/31/13 (the’ “Contest Period”).  To apply, visit www.lovestorycontest.blogspot.com during the Contest Period completed Application by following the instructions on the Application.  Submit completed Application to lovestorycontest@gmail.com.  After submitting a completed written Application, then create a video of your love story.

3. HOW TO APPLY - PART II VIDEO: During the Contest Period, create a video of your love story and post it on YouTube. Then email the link to your video to lovestorycontest@gmail.com.

Video Requirements

• Must between 4-7 minutes (Note: If the contestant’s video is more than 7 minutes, the Sponsor may choose to disqualify your Application.)

• Must include 5 or more reasons why you have been able to stay married for over 25 years

• Suggested things to include: When you first met, your first date, special events/activities you did together, your engagement/marriage proposal, your wedding day and anything funny, sad, exciting that happen before you got married. (See Application for other information you may want to include)

Upon completion and submission of your written Application and Love Story Video, your application will be complete.  

Have internet access and a valid email address. Limit one (1) Application per couple.  If more than one (1) Application is received from the same couple, only the first Application received will be considered valid and Sponsor may choose to disqualify all Applications submitted by the couple.

Entrants must fully complete and submit all required data on the Application to be eligible; incomplete Applications are null and void.  All materials submitted become the sole property of Authors of the book and Sponsors and will not be returned. The will  Applications generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro or other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified; any use of automated methods of Application may result in disqualification.

4. ONLINE VOTING:  The online voting officially begins at 12:00 midnight CST on 11/01/13 and ends at 11:59 pm CST on 11/08/13 (the’ “Online Voting Period”). The contestants videos will be viewed by the online community and they will vote for their favorite love story video. To vote, go to our our Love Story Contest 2013 YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/2013Lovestorycontest and click the “Like” button for your favorite love story video.  The top 10 - 20 videos that receive the most “Like” votes by the online community will move on to be judged by a Judging Panel.  We recommend that you ask your family and friends to go to the YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/2013Lovestorycontest and click on your favorite video listed under Featured Channel and place their “Like” vote. 

5. JUDGING PANEL: The contestants will be judged by authors and Generations United.  The winners will be notified by phone and email.  Decisions by the judging panel shall be binding, final and cannot be appealed.  The winners will be posted on the blog at www.lovestorycontest.blogspot.com.

6. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize: The winner will work with the author to have their “Love Story” featured in the first chapter of the book. They will received one FREE signed copy of the book from the authors.  Other Winners:  The other winners will have a chapter in the book as well.  Each will receive one FREE signed copy of the book from the authors.  All Non-Winners will have their names in the book on the "Thank You" page for submitting a video of their story.  

7. PRIZE TERMS: Prizes are not transferable.  Federal, state, and local taxes on prize and any expenses related to the acceptance of and use of prize not specified herein are the responsibility of the winning couple.

8. ADDITIONAL TERMS:  Sponsor is not responsible for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone service, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost of unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may affect the ability of the consumer to participate, or for any damage to any participant’s computer system/software related to or resulting from participation in this contest.  Potential winners may be required to provide Sponsor with proof of marriage associated with the winning Application.
